What is MCP?

MCP is the connection that lets compatible AI assistants and agents work with your Tripsy trips and supported planning tools.

Why is setup missing?

Developer mode and custom connections depend on account and workspace access. Ask your workspace administrator if these controls are unavailable.

What can I change?

Use supported tools to create trips, add activities, and update itinerary details. Available actions depend on the connection.

Can ChatGPT update my trip?

Only when the connection exposes the required tools and your account permits those actions. Check available tools before requesting a change.

Can I keep planning manually?

Yes. AI is an optional way to work on your itinerary. You can keep organizing and editing your trips in Tripsy.

Connect Tripsy to ChatGPT

Use ChatGPT on the web with developer-mode access. Availability and allowed actions depend on your account and workspace policies.

Enable developer mode

Open Settings → Security and login → Developer mode. If the option is unavailable, check your account or workspace access.

Create the connection

Open Plugins and select the plus button. Name it Tripsy, enter https://mcp.tripsy.app as the public MCP URL, and complete authentication.

Add Tripsy to a chat

Review the discovered tools. Start a new conversation and select the connection from the tools menu. Ask: “Show my upcoming Tripsy trips.”

Understand what you share

Connecting an assistant gives it access to travel information through the tools you authorize. Choose a service you trust.

MCP exchanges information between Tripsy and your connected AI application. Information retrieved through the connection may be processed by that AI provider under its own policies. Review the permissions when connecting. Confirmation behavior depends on your assistant and its settings; not every action necessarily requires a separate approval.
