Connect your AI assistant to Tripsy. Turn a conversation into an itinerary, keep the details together, and take your plans with you.

One connection. More ways to plan.

MCP is the connection that lets compatible AI assistants work with your Tripsy account. Use our hosted server to get started without installing anything.

Public MCP server URL

https://mcp.tripsy.app

Use this address when your assistant asks for an MCP server or custom connector URL.

1

Choose your assistant

Open the connector or MCP settings in your AI app. For Claude, you can also find Tripsy in its connector directory.

2

Connect your account

Add https://mcp.tripsy.app, then follow the Tripsy sign-in screen and review the access you authorize.

3

Start a conversation

Ask “Show my upcoming Tripsy trips.” Then build or update an itinerary together.

Your assistant can read and change information through the tools you authorize. Review the connection permissions and your assistant’s settings. Availability and allowed actions depend on the app and your account.

Less busywork. More travel.

Tell your assistant what you have in mind. Tripsy MCP gives it the tools to help organize the journey, from the first idea to the last reservation.

Build a trip from a conversation

Turn ideas into a trip with dates, places to visit, stays, and transport. Keep each stop organized in Tripsy.

TRY ASKING

Create a four-day Lisbon trip and add a separate activity for each stop.

Keep plans up to date

Find upcoming trips, adjust itinerary details, and follow trips shared with you.

TRY ASKING

Show my upcoming trips and move Friday’s museum visit to Saturday.

Keep reservations together

Find documents and original booking emails. Attach links or files to the right trip or reservation.

TRY ASKING

Find the hotel confirmation attached to my Paris trip.

Work through your booking inbox

Review emails waiting for attention, turn reservation details into itinerary items, and attach the original email.

TRY ASKING

Review my booking inbox and help me organize the reservations.

Plan with your people

See who is joining, invite guests, manage access, and choose which trips you are travelling on or following.

TRY ASKING

Invite Alex to my Lisbon trip and show me their permissions.

Organize the little details

Record expenses, personalize activity categories, and update your travel preferences.

TRY ASKING

Add a €24 lunch expense to my Lisbon trip.

Tripsy organizes your plans. Adding a flight, stay, or expense does not book travel or make a payment. Document features depend on Pro and the permissions for each shared trip.

Trips

Create Trip

tripsy_trips_create
Write10 parameters

Create a Tripsy trip. Optional data.guest_invites sends invitations during creation; use tripsy_collaborators_invite for existing trips. For planned itineraries, include name, timezone, starts_at, ends_at, and cover_image_url. For leisure trips, cover_image_url should be a destination-specific real direct Unsplash CDN URL copied from an image result, in the form https://images.unsplash.com/photo-1562869929-bda0650edb1f?ixid=...&ixlib=rb-4.1.0. The MCP server validates direct Unsplash URL shape; if the client also has external URL access, check that the image URL is reachable and not a 404 before saving it. Do not use unsplash.com/photos/... pages, and do not turn short photo IDs such as nWdsya5_Yms into images.unsplash.com/photo-nWdsya5_Yms URLs. Use date strings for trip starts_at/ends_at such as 2026-06-01. Safety: Open-world: guest invitations can send email to external recipients and grant them trip access. Destructive: guest invitations can send email that cannot be unsent and expose trip data to recipients. This applies even when invitations are optional or a favorite guest is added directly.

Parameters
cover_image_urlstringOptional

Destination-specific real direct Unsplash CDN URL copied from an image result, for example https://images.unsplash.com/photo-1562869929-bda0650edb1f?ixid=...&ixlib=rb-4.1.0. Must use an images.unsplash.com/photo-<numeric timestamp>-<asset hash> path; do not use unsplash.com/photos/... or short IDs such as photo-nWdsya5_Yms. If the client has external URL access, check that the image URL is reachable and not a 404 before saving it.

dataobjectOptional

Optional raw Tripsy API fields. Prefer the typed top-level fields when possible; values here are merged first.

Object of API fields. See the API reference ↗

descriptionstringOptional

Optional trip description.

ends_atstringOptional

Trip end date as YYYY-MM-DD, for example 2026-06-15.

has_datesnull | booleanOptional

Whether the trip has explicit dates.

hiddennull | booleanOptional

Whether the trip should be hidden.

namestringOptional

Trip name, such as Italy or Lisbon Birthday Weekend.

number_of_daysnull | integerOptional

Number of days for an undated trip.

starts_atstringOptional

Trip start date as YYYY-MM-DD, for example 2026-06-01.

timezonestringOptional

Primary IANA timezone for the trip, such as Europe/Rome.

Update Trip

tripsy_trips_update
Write2 parameters

Update a Tripsy trip by id. If updating cover_image_url, the MCP server validates direct Unsplash URL shape; if the client also has external URL access, check that the image URL is reachable and not a 404 before saving it. Safety: Closed-world: operates within the authenticated user's Tripsy account and accessible trips. Destructive: overwrites supplied fields on an existing Tripsy record; previous values are not automatically preserved or restored by this tool.

Parameters
dataobjectRequired

Object of trip fields to update.

Object of API fields. See the API reference ↗

Activities

Create Activity

tripsy_activities_create
Write16 parameters

Create a Tripsy activity. Use one activity per actual stop, reservation, meal, tour, event, or experience. Activity creation requires latitude and longitude so the Tripsy map is populated; include address when known. Timed values are always UTC ISO-8601 timestamps; set timezone to the activity location's local IANA timezone. MCP clients displaying activities must convert UTC starts_at/ends_at values into the activity timezone before formatting date/time. Set activity_type to the most specific built-in slug or visible custom category slug, store provider-issued reservation, confirmation, or booking codes in provider_reservation_code, and do not invent ad hoc values such as sightseeing. Custom category slugs are only valid on Activity objects through activity_type. MCP clients displaying activities must resolve non-built-in activity_type values through tripsy_categories_list so the correct custom activity category name, icon, and color are shown. Built-in activity_type slugs for Activity objects: concert, fit, general, kids, museum, note, relax, restaurant, shopping, theater, tour, event, meeting, bar, cafe, parking, amusementPark, aquarium, atm, bakery, bank, beach, brewery, campground, evCharger, fireStation, fitnessCenter, foodMarket, gasStation, hospital, laundry, library, marina, movieTheater, nationalPark, nightlife, park, pharmacy, police, postOffice, publicTransport, restroom, school, stadium, university, winery, zoo. Activity objects may also use visible custom category slugs returned by tripsy_categories_list through activity_type. Custom category slugs are only valid on Activity objects, not lodging, transportation, expense, or trip resources. MCP clients must resolve those custom slugs to display the correct activity category name, icon, and color. Safety: Closed-world: operates within the authenticated user's Tripsy account and accessible trips.

Parameters
activity_typestringOptional

Activity category slug. Use a built-in Activity category slug or a visible custom category slug returned by tripsy_categories_list. Custom category slugs are only valid on Activity objects through activity_type. Use the most specific available slug; do not invent ad hoc values such as sightseeing.

addressstringOptional

Full address for map-ready location activities.

currencystringOptional

ISO currency code for price, such as EUR or USD.

dataobjectOptional

Optional raw activity fields. Prefer the typed top-level fields when possible; values here are merged first.

Object of API fields. See the API reference ↗

descriptionstringOptional

Optional activity description.

ends_atstringOptional

UTC ISO-8601 end timestamp for timed activities, for example 2026-06-03T11:00:00Z. Timed values are always UTC; MCP clients must convert this value to the activity timezone before displaying the local date/time.

latitudenull | numberRequired

Required latitude for the activity location. Activity creates are rejected unless both latitude and longitude are present so the Tripsy map is populated.

longitudenull | numberRequired

Required longitude for the activity location. Activity creates are rejected unless both latitude and longitude are present so the Tripsy map is populated.

namestringOptional

Activity name. Create one activity per actual stop, reservation, meal, tour, or experience.

Optional notes.

pricenull | numberOptional

Optional price.

provider_reservation_codestringOptional

Provider-issued reservation, confirmation, or booking code for this activity, such as a tour confirmation number or restaurant booking code.

starts_atstringOptional

UTC ISO-8601 start timestamp for timed activities, for example 2026-06-03T09:00:00Z. Timed values are always UTC; MCP clients must convert this value to the activity timezone before displaying the local date/time.

timezonestringOptional

Local IANA timezone for the activity location, such as Europe/Rome. MCP clients must use this timezone to convert UTC starts_at/ends_at values before displaying the activity date/time.

trip_idstringRequired

Tripsy trip id.

websitestringOptional

List Activities

tripsy_activities_list
Read7 parameters

Scheduled or unscheduled trip activities. Use one activity per actual stop, reservation, meal, tour, or experience. Activity creation requires latitude and longitude so the Tripsy map is populated. Use provider_reservation_code for the provider-issued reservation, confirmation, or booking code. MCP clients displaying activity dates/times must convert UTC starts_at/ends_at values into the activity timezone. Supports common list filters. Built-in activity_type slugs for Activity objects: concert, fit, general, kids, museum, note, relax, restaurant, shopping, theater, tour, event, meeting, bar, cafe, parking, amusementPark, aquarium, atm, bakery, bank, beach, brewery, campground, evCharger, fireStation, fitnessCenter, foodMarket, gasStation, hospital, laundry, library, marina, movieTheater, nationalPark, nightlife, park, pharmacy, police, postOffice, publicTransport, restroom, school, stadium, university, winery, zoo. Activity objects may also use visible custom category slugs returned by tripsy_categories_list through activity_type. Custom category slugs are only valid on Activity objects, not lodging, transportation, expense, or trip resources. MCP clients must resolve those custom slugs to display the correct activity category name, icon, and color. Safety: Closed-world: operates within the authenticated user's Tripsy account and accessible trips.

Parameters
activity_typestringOptional

Optional activity category slug filter. Only used by activities.

deletedbooleanOptional

When true, list deleted records where the endpoint supports it; useful when a recoverable delete needs to be inspected or undone.

fieldsnull | arrayOptional

Optional response field allow-list. Sent as the API fields query parameter.

fields_excludenull | arrayOptional

Optional response field deny-list. Sent as the API fields! query parameter.

transportation_typestringOptional

Optional transportation type slug filter. Only used by transportations.

trip_idstringRequired

Tripsy trip id.

updated_sincestringOptional

Optional ISO-8601 timestamp for incremental list filtering.

Transportation

Create Transportation

tripsy_transportations_create
Write24 parameters

Create a Tripsy transportation for point-to-point movement. Timed values are always UTC ISO-8601 timestamps; set departure_timezone and arrival_timezone to each endpoint's local IANA timezone. MCP clients displaying transportations must convert departure_at with departure_timezone and arrival_at with arrival_timezone before formatting local endpoint dates/times. Use transportation_type for the segment kind and include departure/arrival names, addresses, latitudes, and longitudes when known. Store provider-issued reservation, confirmation, or booking codes in provider_reservation_code; use transport_number for the flight, train, bus, or service number. For flights, use transportation_type airplane, set departure_description and arrival_description to airport IATA codes, include the airports' departure/arrival latitudes and longitudes, and omit name unless the user provided one. For transfer activities, use transportation_type roadtrip and fill both departure and arrival locations completely. Supported transportation_type slugs: airplane, bike, bus, car, roadtrip, cruise, ferry, motorcycle, train, walk. Safety: Closed-world: operates within the authenticated user's Tripsy account and accessible trips.

Invite Trip Guest

tripsy_collaborators_invite
Write3 parameters

Invite a guest to an existing trip by email. Requires permission to add guests. Confirmed favorites may be added directly. The API can return success without adding a guest; check collaborators afterward. Use this tool for existing trips; guest_invites is only processed during trip creation. Safety: Open-world: guest invitations can send email to external recipients and grant them trip access. Destructive: guest invitations can send email that cannot be unsent and expose trip data to recipients. This applies even when invitations are optional or a favorite guest is added directly.

Parameters
invited_user_emailstringRequired

Email address of the guest to invite.

permissionsnull | objectOptional

Optional invitation permissions. Omitted fields use the API defaults, limited by the inviter's permissions.

permissions.can_add_guestsnull | booleanOptional

Allow managing trip guests.

permissions.can_edit_documentsnull | booleanOptional

Allow editing documents.

permissions.can_edit_expensesnull | booleanOptional

Allow editing expenses.

permissions.can_see_documentsnull | booleanOptional

Allow viewing expenses.

permissions.is_travellingnull | booleanOptional

True for travelling; false for following.

permissions.read_onlynull | booleanOptional

Invite with read-only trip access.

permissions.titlestringOptional

Optional invitation title.

trip_idstringRequired

Tripsy trip id.

Update Inbox Email

tripsy_inbox_update
Write6 parameters

Rename an automation email subject and/or move it to an existing editable trip, activity, hosting (lodging), or transportation. Supply subject or exactly one move target. A move clears previous associations and attaches the email only to that target; do not supply trip_id alongside an item id. Attached emails disappear from the manual-review inbox. The API may return an empty successful response. Safety: Closed-world: operates within the authenticated user's Tripsy account and accessible trips. Destructive: can overwrite the subject or clear prior parent associations when moving an email, removing it from the manual-review inbox. Moves require exactly one editable target.

Parameters
activity_idnull | stringOptional

Move to this editable activity. Supply exactly one move target; no trip_id is needed.

hosting_idnull | stringOptional

Move to this editable hosting (lodging). Supply exactly one move target; no trip_id is needed.

idstringRequired

Automation email id from tripsy_inbox_list.

subjectnull | stringOptional

Optional replacement subject. Omitted values preserve the existing subject.

transportation_idnull | stringOptional

Move to this editable transportation. Supply exactly one move target; no trip_id is needed.

trip_idnull | stringOptional

Move to this editable trip. Supply exactly one move target; omit when moving to an activity, hosting, or transportation.

Prefer to run it yourself?

Install the Tripsy CLI and MCP server, sign in with the CLI, then configure your client to run tripsy-mcp over stdio. The hosted connection above needs no local installation.

curl -fsSL https://tripsy.app/install_cli | bash

tripsy auth login --username you@example.com

tripsy-mcp

For Streamable HTTP, run tripsy-mcp --transport http --http-addr 127.0.0.1:8787 --http-path /mcp --disable-raw-request behind TLS. Each HTTP request requires its own bearer token; HTTP mode does not fall back to the server’s stored credentials. Existing clients can continue using https://mcp.tripsy.app/mcp.
